Golden Oriole Katana and Wakizashi

It has been said that in simplicity lies great beauty, an axiom stunningly validated by the Golden Oriole Katana (1018-GT) and Wakizashi (1019-GT). The story told by the stunning brass tsubas is of a mantis stealthily stalking a cricket, unaware that he is himself being stalked by the Golden Oriole. The deeply lacquered blue of the scabbards is repeated in the Japanese cotton handle wraps, an the Oriole appears again on the kashiras (pommels).

Unmistakenly Hanwei quality, the over length (13") grip of the katana is secured to the long tang by double bamboo pegs. This longer handle gives a superb balance to the sword, allowing it to move freely and very quickly.
